Alpha Course
An opportunity to explore the meaning of life

The Alpha Course is a series of eleven weekly meetings in which issues of spirituality are explored and debated. Key questions include:

  • What is the point of life?
  • What happens when we die?
  • What is the relevance of Jesus Christ in people’s lives today?
  • How do we deal with guilt?
  • What is prayer for and how do we do it?
  • What is Church for?

Thousands of Alpha Courses have been run throughout the world in the last fifteen years and they have been attended by:

  • Those who believe there is more to life than this world and want to see what the Christian faith might have to offer
  • Non-believers who are interested in finding out makes believers tick
  • New Christians
  • Christians who feel the need to brush up on their knowledge

Deeping St James Priory Church has now run the Alpha Course for many years and the next one begins soon. If you want to find out more or book a place on this term's course, please call either Mark on 345890 or Martin on 423959. The course is totally free, although there is an opportunity to make a voluntary contribution towards the meal which is included in each session, and there is no obligation to continue once you start. It lasts for eleven evenings and will include a day away at some point.

The best way to find out more is to attend the Alpha Supper on Thursday 11th September at 19:30 - please contact us to book your place, and bring a friend with you! Again, no charge, and no obligation to attend the course, either. We look forward to meeting you.
