Congratulations on the birth of your child!
Bringing a new life into the world is an amazing thing. It is something to celebrate and give thanks for. We at the Priory Church celebrate the arrival of your baby with you and will give thanks to God for the event. Getting all the family together at the Baptism of the child is often part of that celebration.
At a simple level, if you let us know that your baby has been born we can include prayers of thanksgiving for their safe arrival in one of our morning services.
If you would like to join us one Sunday morning we can include a special moment of Thanksgiving for the Gift of a Child. In this little service, you thank God for the gift of your child and the child is blessed, but you do not go on to make the same promises as in the Baptism service.
A good service to come along to is the 10am All-Age Family Service on the 1st Sunday of the month.
Even if you choose to have a Thanksgiving now, you are always very welcome to request a Baptism service for your child at a later date.
We offer Baptism as part of the All-Age Family service starting at 10am on the FIRST Sunday of each month: this service is a little shorter and less formal than the morning service on other Sundays so that families and children can feel comfortable in what is often a strange place.
All children are very welcome to come along and join in at this Service.
We can also offer an Afternoon Baptism service at 3pm on the THIRD Sunday of every month, to be followed by a brief welcome into the Family of God for both parents and children at the next 10am Family Service (see above)
Please speak to the Clergy for more information on any of these services: see Contacting us
