A Few Basic Matters of Etiquette
In order to make life easy for DSJ Exchange list members, we suggest that things would go smoothest if we tried to observe the following:
- We put our name at the end of each of our messages so that we know
who said what. Especially where a whole family uses one e-mail address.
- When we include a quote of someone else's posting, we delete all
the material which is irrelevant to our reply, especially headers
with everyone's addresses in :-), and any "Forwarded Message" lines and long signature files.
- If your mailing software includes an option to send "html" codes,
these are switched off for list messages, since not everyone else can
read them.
Do remember that not everyone uses the same software, and the e-mail correspondents are not even all using IBM PC's with Windows! Keep it simple and everyone will be able to participate.
Thanks,
Mark
