The Grand Draw 2010
This year there were a magnificent 35 prizes to
be had of which at least 10 were worth between £25 and £100.
The raffle was drawn as usual at the Rose and
Sweet Pea Show.
The prize winners are:
This year we raised £1076 after expenses an
increase of over £100 on last year. Selling tickets beforehand is very
essential as about two thirds of the sales were made this way and my thanks
go to all ticket sellers for their efforts. However, it is important that all
those issued with tickets do return them before the show - whether sold or unsold as we could have
sold more tickets on the day if they had been available (quite a few books were
not returned).
Grateful thanks go to John Fisher, Niccy &
Martin Fisher, Sue & John Marsh, Andrea & Richard Gamman, Juliet Mills,
Christine Masters, Mrs Beryl Willett, Mrs Doris Bellairs, Mandy Flindall and
The Ladies Fellowship for either supplying raffle prizes or money towards
prizes.
The following companies also donated prizes: -
Landis Gyr (meal
at Chesters)
Maharanis (Market Deeping) (meal)
Stamford Shakespeare Company (Tolethorpe tickets)
Burghley Estate (family ticket)
Stamford Arts Centre (voucher)
John Lewis (voucher)
Aitken Floral Designs (2 pot plants and a bouquet)
Pets Pantry, Market Deeping (bird feeder)
Tesco (voucher)
The Boundary Fish & Chip Restaurant (vouchers)
Linfords Fish and Chips (vouchers)
Grasmere Farm (voucher)
Waterside Garden Centre (voucher)
The Co-operative Store in Market Deeping must
not be forgotten as the Co-op, again, very generously sponsored the printing of
the raffle tickets.
Without the generosity of these companies and
individuals the money raised would have
been much less as we would have had to fund all the prizes and the printing
ourselves.
I must also express my thanks to Kim Hallam who
helped me source the prizes, helped to distribute the tickets, and also helped
on the day. Thanks also to Adrian Hallam (and relatives) and to Roger and Liz
Bridgeman for helping man the stall.
Overall the raffle was very successful this
year raising over £1000 towards church funds and will take quite a bit to
emulate next year.
