The Priory is there for you in life’s biggest moments and can help you with Baptisms, Confirmations, Weddings, Blessings and Funerals. Our doors are open for private prayer and serenity every day from 10.00am to 5.00pm where candles may be lit and there is a prayer board if you wish to submit prayers. We also have a wonderful Church Hall if you are seeking a venue for a gathering or event. If you would like further information on anything at all, please visit our Services Page or contact our Church Warden Jan Fisk on 07415 224592 and email churchwarden@dsj.org.uk.
Worship has taken place in the Priory Church for almost 900 years, founded in 1139 in the 12th Century. Services continue to take place on Sundays and Thursday mornings each week. The Priory Church is a thriving community which holds regular concerts from local musicians and bands from further afield. We also recently have been holding a series of historical talks around our church building, showing off our original font from the same era and the beautiful stained glass windows. Continually, we are also well known for our annual Rose & Sweet Pea Show as well as our annual Beer Festival!
The Priory Church is also proud to hold memberships of local partnerships. Including, the Welland Local Mission Partnership (LMP). The LMP is a group of local Church of England Churches working together to support ministry in the area – which includes Crowland, Deeping St Nicholas, Deeping St. James, Market Deeping, Langtoft, Baston and Thurlby.
Continually, The Priory Church is also a member of Churches Together in the Deepings, which brings Churches of all denominations in Deeping St. James and Market Deeping together for joint services and unified mission. Members include; Priory Church, Deeping St. James (CofE), The Deepings Methodist Church, Our Lady of Lincoln and St. Guthlac Roman Catholic Church, Open Door Baptist Church and St. Guthlac’s, Market Deeping (CofE).
