As the Parish Church of Deeping St James, anyone living in the parish, or who regularly worships at the Priory Church has the right to be married in the church. Since 2008 they also have a right by virtue of having a Qualifying Connection with the parish.
These Qualifying Connections are:
- Baptised in the parish
- Having their Confirmation registered in the church register
- Lived in the parish at any time, for at least 6 months
- Parents lived in the parish at any time, for at least 6 months, during the person’s lifetime
- Attended worship at the Priory Church habitually at any time, for at least 6 months
- Parents attended worship at the Priory Church habitually at any time, for at least 6 months, during the person’s lifetime
- Parent or Grandparent was married in the church
We are sympathetic towards re-marriage of divorcees, and can also offer a Service of Thanksgiving after a Civil Marriage.
We are also happy to offer service of ‘Blessing’ or Renewal of Vows.
For further details or queries, please contact the vicar.
